The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemns the terrorist attack carried out by the Houthi terrorist militia on Friday, October 21, 2022 with two booby-trapped drones targeting the Al-Dabba oil port in Hadhramaut while docking a ship to ship crude oil from the port, which is a flagrant violation of Security Council Resolution No. 2216, and in violation of international laws and customs, and confirms that the Houthi terrorist militia and those behind it continue to target civilian and economic facilities, global energy supplies and corridors, and threaten the marine environment with pollution.
The Foreign Ministry explains that this attack is an escalation by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia after the end of the UN truce in Yemen, which that militia refused to extend and expand despite all the efforts made, and the keenness of the legitimate Yemeni government to provide all facilities for its renewal based on its responsibilities towards the brotherly Yemeni people.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms the Kingdom's position in support of everything that ensures the security and stability of the Republic of Yemen, achieves the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people, the continued coalition's support for the legitimate Yemeni government, and the efforts of the United Nations to extend the truce, stop fire in Yemen and reach a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
