On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will head the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participating in the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the summit level in its 31st session, which will be held on Tuesday in the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.
His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs left to Algeria today in the head of the Kingdom's delegation, which includes His Excellency the Vice Foreign Minister, Eng. Waleed bin Abdul Karim Al-Khereiji, His Excellency The Deputy Finance Minister for International Affairs, Dr. Ryadh Alkhareif, His Excellency the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Algeria Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Bussairy, His Excellency the Kingdom's permanent representative to the League of Arab States Ambassador Abdulrahman bin Saeed Al-Juma, and His Excellency the Director-General of the Minister of Foreign Affairs office Abdulrahman Al-Daoud.
The Kingdom's delegation's participation in the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the summit level confirms the Kingdom's active role in promoting the process of joint Arab action and its firm position towards many common challenges facing the Arab region and the world, most notably stressing the importance of speeding up a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, in addition to reviewing the Kingdom's efforts to communicate with the parties to the (Russian-Ukrainian) crisis to find a political solution leading to ending the crisis and stopping military operations.
The Kingdom's delegation, headed by His Highness the Foreign Minister, will discuss the latest developments in Arab issues, most notably the crisis in Yemen, and the Kingdom's support for all means that enable the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council to perform its roles, in order to achieve sustainable peace between brothers in Yemen on the basis of the three terms of reference, including Security Council resolution 2216.
The agenda of meetings will discuss the file of Iranian interventions in a number of Arab countries and the Iranian nuclear program. The Kingdom reaffirms its position calling for the importance of intensifying and redoubling international efforts to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East, in addition to calling on Iran to cooperate fully with the International Atomic Energy Agency and take serious steps to build confidence between it and the Arab countries and the international community.
The terms of the meetings will also include reviewing the Kingdom's request to host Expo 2030, and supporting Arab countries for the Kingdom's file, which carries many sustainable development goals, which will bring the Arab region more growth and prosperity.
