HH Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed the Kingdom's appreciation of the decision of the Republic of Serbia to support the Kingdom's candidacy to host the World Expo 2030, during a press conference gathered by His Highness with His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, at the headquarters of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital Belgrade after concluding his official visit to Serbia.
His Highness the Minister stressed that the meeting brought together with His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, confirms the Kingdom's sincere desire to deepen relations with the Republic of Serbia, where relations are witnessing a positive acceleration.
His Highness the Minister also stressed the Kingdom's support for all regional and international efforts aimed at settling the Russian-Ukrainian crisis peacefully in a way that enhances international peace and security and mitigates the economic consequences of the crisis and global energy supplies.
His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs praised the remarkable increase in the rates of trade exchange between the Kingdom and Serbia for the past year 2021, which amounted to 88% compared to 2020, pointing out that he discussed with his counterpart opportunities to increase investments in all sectors in light of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
For his part, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Nikola Selaković, expressed his deep happiness with this historic symbolic visit, which comes as the first bilateral official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since the start of relations between the two countries about 10 years ago.
His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia stated that Serbia seeks to strengthen and consolidate its relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially since the Kingdom has recorded during the past few years a bright prosperity as a result of the development plans of the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, describing the experience as unique, especially since the Kingdom today is an active member of the G20, and seeks to be in the top ten economies in the world by 2030.
His Excellency explained that he met with His Highness the Foreign Minister several times this year and on various occasions, reflecting the dynamism and strength of relations between the Kingdom and Serbia, pointing out that he discussed with His Highness during the meeting today ways to support the peaceful efforts of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis because of its negative effects.
