His Highness the Foreign Minister and His Indian Counterpart Co-Chair the Second Meeting of the Ministerial Committee on Political, Security, Cultural, and Social Affairs


His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister of the Republic of India, co-chaired the second meeting of the Ministerial Committee on Political, Security, Cultural, and Social Affairs, emanating from the Strategic Partnership Council between the two countries on Wednesday, in the Indian capital, New Delhi.

 

During the meeting, His Highness delivered a speech emphasizing that the establishment of the Strategic Partnership Council between Saudi Arabia and India, led by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has paved the way for a new era of cooperation across various fields. His Highness Prince Faisal expressed his aspiration to enhance the council's capabilities and efficiency to achieve common goals.

 

His Highness also highlighted the importance of coordination and collaboration on issues of mutual interest, particularly in areas related to international peace, security, and economic development. His Highness expressed his confidence that strengthening cooperation would serve the two countries' mutual interests.

 

The meeting further discussed the agreed-upon initiatives outlined in the meeting's minutes, which included enhancing cooperation in political, consular, defense, military, judicial, security, social, and cultural fields.

 

Following the discussions, His Highness the Foreign Minister and His Excellency the Indian Foreign Minister signed the minutes of the Ministerial Committee on (Political, Security, Cultural, and Social Affairs), which emanates from the Strategic Partnership Council between the two countries.

 

The meeting was attended by Abdulrahman Aldawood, Director General of the Office of His Highness the Foreign Minister; Jadi bin Naif Alraqaas, Chargé d'Affaires of the Saudi Embassy in India; and Nasser Al-Ghanoum, Head of the Saudi side of the Subcommittee on Political and Consular Cooperation. Representatives of the subcommittees on judicial, security, cultural, social, military, and defense cooperation were also present.
