His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, affirmed that convening the extraordinary Arab and Islamic summit in Riyadh reflects the sincere desire of Arab and Islamic nations to continue efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region. These efforts include reducing escalations, halting violations by Israeli occupation forces, easing restrictions on humanitarian aid, and supporting a two-state solution as the sole option for achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.
During the summit's press conference, His Highness added that the discussions focused on ways to enhance joint Arab and Islamic cooperation and coordinate with the international community to enforce a ceasefire, limit the expansion of the conflict, and mitigate the growing threat posed by Israeli military actions to regional and international security.
His Highness emphasized that it is the responsibility of the international community to pressure Israel to cease its practices, including the prevention of the Palestinian tax revenues from reaching the Palestinian Authority, which impacts the administration of Palestinian territories despite Israel's previous commitments. His Highness Prince Faisal affirmed that the Kingdom and Arab and Islamic countries will continue to support the Palestinian Authority, noting its capacity—despite all challenges—to manage the situation in the West Bank and Gaza.
