Foreign Minister HH Prince Faisal bin Farhan participates in the first session of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting entitled “The G20's Role in Dealing with Ongoing International Tensions.
His Highness begin his speech by congratulating the Brazilian Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Mauro Vieria, on his country assuming the Presidency of the G20 this year. HH the Foreign Minister said that the growing intensity and spread of global conflicts has put a strain on international cooperation, eroding credibility and trust in multilateral frameworks. Stressing the importance of the commitment of international institutions to fulfill their obligations at the global level, and to be clearer in their positions than they are currently, especially dealing with the tragic situation in the Gaza Strip. His Highness explained that the responsibility to act decisively to end the catastrophe in Gaza, which poses pressing threats to regional peace and prosperity as well as global economic stability. His Highness also stressed the importance of condemning the atrocities committed in Gaza, calling on the G20 countries to push for meaningful action to end the war, and support a credible and irreversible path to a two-state solution.
