A consultative meeting was held in Riyadh to discuss developments at the Israeli war in Gaza

On February 8, 2024, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, called for a meeting to discuss the ongoing Israeli conflict in Gaza. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Al Safadi, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Sameh Shoukry, and His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Minister of Civil Affairs, Hussein Al Sheikh.

 

The ministers stressed on the need to end the war in Gaza, reach an immediate and complete ceasefire, ensure the protection of civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law, and lift all restrictions that impede the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip. They expressed their support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and urged all its supporters to play their role in supporting humanitarian efforts to assist Palestinian refugees.

 

They stressed on the importance of taking irreversible steps to implement the two-state solution and recognize the State of Palestine on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant international resolutions. They also emphasized that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory and expressed their categorical rejection of all forced displacement operations.​
